Bothell, WA- James Thompson, Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer of HaloSource, a Bothell-based antimicrobial and
clean technology company, has been named to the Puget Sound Business
Journal’s, 40 Under 40 List for 2007.
The 40 Under 40 list is the Northwest region’s premier award program
that spotlights the next generation of business leaders. Nominees
are evaluated on criteria such as personal business philosophy,
management style and entrepreneurial spirit. This year more than 200
individuals were nominated. HaloSource is proud that one of its team
members has been awarded a spot on this select list.
“We are proud of James and his accomplishments,” said John Kaestle,
CEO of HaloSource. “He is a key member of our Leadership Team and is
highly respected for his financial and business perspectives.”
Thompson has led the company’s global fundraising efforts and has
played a key role in driving HaloSource into international markets.
“We are building a global business,” said Thompson. “Each individual
market is different and everyday proves to be an exciting
challenge.”
After helping launch HaloSource’s drinking water business in India
in 2006, Thompson is now focusing on bringing the company’s
“game-changing” solutions to China and Africa in 2008, and
eventually Latin America and the Middle East in 2009.
HaloSource’s innovative technologies bring superior solutions to the
fast-growing water purification and infection-control markets. “The
issue of bringing clean drinking water to developing countries is a
huge passion of ours,” said Thompson. “Our technology in water
purification and infection-control has allowed us to drive the cost
of purification down to 1/10 the cost of competing solutions and,
for the first time, opening up the mass market to purified water.”
When asked about his leadership philosophy, Thompson commented,
“Hire well. If you build a team of highly motivated and smart
individuals with great attitudes, you will be successful…give them
rewarding experiences and they will work their hearts out for you.”
Prior to HaloSource, Thompson spent twelve years in various
corporate finance positions with Continental Bank, Security Capital
Group and Alexander Hutton Venture Partners. He earned an
undergraduate degree in finance from Gonzaga University and an MBA
from the University of Washington Graduate School of Business.
Thompson lives with his wife Anna in Seattle and is a busy father of
three young children, Sam, Madeline and recent addition, Charlie.
